A trio of classic jets

last month, on our way back from Duxford Dave and I stopped off at Carlisle and the Solway Aviation Museum.

It was relatively late but the light was superb, not you would know it from this monochrome. Anyway this one was just too good to miss a trio of classic RAF jets; the Lightning, the Meteor and the Phantom.

An unconventional crop, there are times when the conventional 3:2 or 4:3 aspect ratio crop just does not work. Had I used it then the jets would have been lost with the extra bits of foreground and sky, so on full manual and an extreme  letterbox crop was called to action.

I hope you like it. If you click on the image it will expand up to a larger size.

Just for the hell of it, here is the version with the 3:2 conventional crop.

You will notice there are a few differences, that’s my style.

But here is one thing for sure…
