The flying community in Scotland is a small one and the death of a glider pilot from the Angus Gliding Club yesterday is just another reminder of how small and vulnerable we all are when we take to the air.
Two friends and fellow Scottish Aero Club members died in early May due to a flying accident, the AAIB report on the incident will probably be due out soon but no matter who is to blame or what was the case, someone grieves for the loss of someone special in their lives.
That old maxim is so true, there are bold pilots and there are old pilots but there are no old bold pilots, so whoever you are, wherever you are take care. Fly the way that you have been taught to do, do everything properly and never be the victim of horrible circumstances that could have been controlled.
Rest in peace.
