Blown away with 60 degrees North

Blown away, that just about sums up today from the force eight sunshine of yesterday to the real Force 8 of today. Well not exactly Force 8 probably Force 5 ish. Sumburgh were reporting a 45 kt wind and horizontal rain when we got on the road this morning.
So we saw a lot of a wet and windy Shetland today. The nice thing about Lerwick was that it was just like a traditional Sunday. Not quite a western isles saboth, places did open but only after lunchtime.
One of the places that did open was the new, well new to me, Shetland Isles Museum at Lerwick. A vast improvement on the old place with a superb number of displays and exhibits including some Pictish stones.

The rain briefly stopped as we left the museum and started back up again for three hours before we dropped the car off and took shelter inside the airport.
We missed the Jarlshoff site, which was occupied from the Stone Age to Medieval times. Shetlands own Skarra Brae.
