I took myself up to Scone yesterday to get me out of the house and for some photo-therapy as it will be the last that I will get at Scone anyway for a wee while.
This one caught my eye while walking about the Scottish Aero Club hangar, I noticed the reflection of the Spitfire on the cowling of a Cessna 182, I worked the shot and this is what I came up with. So much for avoiding your shadow in the foreground.
I would have liked to have made this one in colour however the cowling was painted a nice power blue colour and it looked awful, so monochrome it had to be.
The Spitfire is not a real one, it is a 2/3rds scale replica kit-built from a company in Australia called Supermarine. The company cleverly managed assign it a mark number, Mk.26, which follows on from those built by Vickers-Supermarine as their last mark was the F.26.
It is not a Merlin engine and if you look closely only two out of the six exhausts actually do anything, the other four are dummies.
